Perfection is a Distraction

This episode of the Quit Playing Small Podcast is brought to you by I quit playing small.com, where you can get your copy of the Quit Playing Small companion book to this pod, it's filled with daily inspiration you didn't know you needed. Hello, most awesome one. I'm Ahyiana Angel, and you are listening to the Quit Playing Small podcast, your space for Inspired thinking, encouragement, and goodness.
All right, now that we're feeling good, doing good, let's go ahead and dive into our bit of inspiration for the day.
A focus on perfection will distract you from your journey to being your best. You'll never start if the prerequisite is perfection. You'll be distracted by what you don't know and cannot do, or think you don't know and think you cannot do.
Perfection is a prison and fearlessness is your key. Admittedly, I have never been a perfectionist and sometimes that felt like a bad thing. I felt like, ugh, there's so many people who would probably do this better than me because they have a goal of getting it exactly right. Getting it perfect. I felt like I was an underachiever, so.
Or my expectations of myself were not high enough. However, as I've experienced life and seen how there are certainly other factors tied in with that expectation of perfection from yourself, I feel relief. Perfection is a heavy burden to carry, and if you're looking to achieve greatness in life, your validation for your achievements won't come wrapped in perfection.
You have to get out and try and fail and learn and try again because that brings achievement, advancement, experience, and understanding. Perfection brings excuses and paralysis. Be free. Today. We kept it short and sweet, but sometimes that is all you need. As always, thank you so much for spending time with me today, sending you big love, positive vibes, and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.
