Embracing Positive Thinking
This is a Mayzie Media production.
Hello, most awesome one. I am Ahyiana Angel and you are listening to the Quit Playing Small podcast. Your space for inspiration, encouragement, and straight up goodness. So I wanted to share a little info with you from the Quit Playing Small book and it goes a little something like this.
Let the desires of your soul speak to you. Give yourself permission to do what stimulates your spirit. Developing an understanding of self it's not easy but required to listen to the desires of your soul.
Recite to yourself. And when I say recite to yourself, this is just a little something that you can either play on a loop or come back and listen to it when you need to, or remember it and recite it to yourself when you need it, but just a little something to keep in your head.
Being positive can result in me achieving amazing things in my life. I believe that anything is possible. I can do hard things. I am determined to keep growing and winning. I am intelligent, resourceful, and resilient. I am worthy of success and wealth. I choose greatness over fear. I choose greatness over fear. Oooh these are the types of things that I like to put on repeat in my mind. Things like choosing greatness over fear, because I have to remind myself of that. Things like the fact that I can do hard things because I have to constantly remind myself of that. So if you need those little reminders, let this be something that you can listen to continuously to remind yourself of all the things that you are to block out whatever pops in your head to tell you all the things that you're not.
So let this be your little reminder to practice positive thinking daily. Positive thinking is not just something that you control in your mind. It's also something that you control with your atmosphere. What you set up around you that could be the people, the things you consume, the places you go and what, and who you decide to engage with. All of these things matter.
Believe it or not, you can start to develop positive thinking and the muscle that you have for it with your daily interactions, with your daily to-do list, with your daily thoughts, it's just you being aware and mindful of coming from the positive instead of buying into the negative. So you wake up in the morning, you have positive thoughts.
You infuse your mind with the positive thoughts. If they're not already there, you put 'em there. You go throughout your day and something happens something that could easily discourage you or make you upset. You actively think to yourself, how can I turn this into a positive? Or you actively look for the positive in the situation. You're going about your day and someone says something to you that rubs you the wrong way. You take a moment.
You breathe in release it and think about, was that positive? If not, do I receive it? If I have to respond, how can I respond in a way that flips what they said to me? And I know that feels like, how can I do that in the moment Ahyiana? Sometimes people catch you off guard and they say things, but guess what?
You don't have to immediately respond to everything. So many of us are uncomfortable with silence. But if someone just said something that rubbed you the wrong way and you don't feel was warranted, you have the right to take a moment. You have the right to process it. And if that means that they sit in silence until you do so.
So be it, you can take control and guide the situations that you're in. And so that's just another little way that you can embrace positive thinking in your day to day. So I know sometimes we hear some of these things and it feels very like. Woo, woo, woo. Positive thinking. And it's like, okay, I hear you, but that's not the way my life is set up or that's not the way my days are set up.
I just wanna offer you some little things that let you know that I acknowledge that not everybody's days are set up with ease and, uh, void of complexity, but that doesn't mean that we can't use our mindfulness, our good quick minds to determine how we're going to respond to things and how we're going to reframe things for ourselves so that all of our experiences benefit us instead of depleting us.
Thank you so much for spending time with me today and I will speak to you soon.
